Timeless Butterfly
By Gary Ramsey
I met her when I was much younger,
her beauty a delicate butterfly,
unfurling vibrant colors
to a world that marveled at her light.
Time has passed, and now she stands,
lines etching stories across her face,
a tapestry woven with laughter,
loss, and quiet resilience.
I wonder if that butterfly still lives,
hidden beneath the gentle folds of age,
its wings perhaps weathered,
but holding the essence of its grace.
Will she reveal those colors again,
in a moment shared, a glance exchanged?
Or has the world’s gaze shifted,
leaving her to bloom in shadows?
Yet, in my heart, I feel a spark,
the warmth of her spirit, still radiant,
a reminder that beauty transcends time,
that within her, the butterfly persists.
As the seasons change, so does her beauty,
not lost but transformed, like the fading light
of dusk that lingers just before the night,
her wisdom like a rich tapestry,
threads that shimmer in the dimmest glow.
In her laughter, I hear the echoes
of dreams once whispered in the twilight air,
and in her eyes, the depths of a universe,
where every moment blooms, tender and rare.
Perhaps it is this essence that remains,
a testament to a life well lived,
a graceful dance through time’s endless maze.
