Lavations

By Frank William Finney

Lifelines slip
across the tiles
like soap
from a soggy hand.
The drain is clogged
with gunk-filled years.
Nothing’s clean
beyond the steam.
Bloodstreams flow
From tile to tile.
Words fog up
the mirror..
